The Rangpur Red Lime is also appreciated for its fragrant purple flowers, abundant fruiting, and good cold resistance. Flowering mainly occurs in spring (April-May), with possible summer re-flowering, while the fruits ripen from autumn to early winter. The fruits are roundish and slightly flattened, with a thin and very aromatic peel, rich in essential oils. When fully ripe, they turn from green to red-orange and contain juicy pulp with a tart and spicy taste, more intense than traditional limes. They are perfect for cocktails, marinades, ethnic cuisine, and desserts.
